Radiation Delivery from the Experts in Radiation

For products to deliver localized radiation, what better source is there than a company that specializes in radiation?  Our experience in manufacturing quality radiation products goes back nearly two decades.

Brachytherapy Services, Inc. has its roots in a company known as North American Scientific, Inc., which started manufacturing industrial radioactive sources back in 1990.  Those sources, in hundreds of geometries and designs and using dozens of different radioactive nuclides served as "reference standards" for variety of industries, including nuclear medicine, calibration and environmental.  The customers for these products were diverse - from nuclear power plants and aerospace companies to hospitals and medical equipment manufacturers.  They used our products to enable or calibrate their equipment.

This expertise in radiation standards formed the basis of our expansion into therapeutic radiation applications.  In 1998, we commercialized our first brachytherapy seed.  North American Scientific became the first company to manufacture both I-125 and Pd-103 seeds, the two FDA-approved isotopes most widely used in low-dose-rate brachytherapy treatment for prostate cancer.  Since then we have steadily expanded our prostate brachytherapy business to include a broader suite of radiation oncology products.
