Patients Happy

At our facility, we use prostate seed implants for the majority of patients receiving radiation therapy for the management of their prostate cancer, with or without hormones and image-guided radiation therapy, as needed.  We have found Brachytherapy Service's Pd-103 and I-125 radioisotope seeds for prostate seed implants to have great value in terms of cost and quality, and the dosimetry is favorable.  In addition, BSI allows us to return unused seeds, which has been a huge boon to the hospital in terms of decreasing overhead.

Patients like the fact that, in many cases, all their prostate cancer therapy can be given with only one "day-stay" visit to the operating room.  Even those patients requiring external-beam radiation therapy as part of their treatment will usually shave 4 weeks off that treatment course by having a seed implant in addition.
